Nokia Asha 501 is dual SIM phone featuring 3-inch 133ppi QVGA capacitive touchscreen display with two finger multitouch. It is powered by less than 1 Ghz processor and comes with pre-installed 4GB microSD card (up to 32GB supported).
The Asha 501 sports 3.2MP* rear camera and it comes in six colours with signature color red.Connectivity options includes 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and microUSB 2.0.
Other features includes Nokia Xpress Browser, which compresses Internet data by up to 90 percent and it has two home screens - one is Fastlane, the other one is the app drawer. Fastlane promises to show your present and your past. Present includes currently running apps (yes, multitasking, hell froze over), while Past shows messages and other notifications you’ve received.
Nokia made a deal with Facebook and Bharti Airtel which allows Asha 501 users in India and Africa to access their social networking account without paying any data charges.
It comes with a standard 1200mAh battery which claims 17 hours of talk time on single SIM use and 48 days of standby time(26 days for the dual-SIM). The phone weighs 98gms and measures 99.2 x 58 x 12.1mm thick.
Nokia Asha 501 will be available in India from June 2013 and it will cost $99* plus taxes in India.
