Datawind launches 4 new 7-inch UbiSlate tablets @Rs 2,999 INR onwards

Four new Datawind Ubislate Tablets are - UbiSlate 7Ri, UbiSlate 7R+, UbiSlate 7Ci, and UbiSlate 7C+ and they are priced from Rs 2,999 to Rs 4,499.

They comes with 7-inch display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels and it runs on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. They are powered by 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and has 512MB RAM. Also has an embedded HD video co-processor.


Other features of these tablets include front VGA camera, USB port, G-Sensor, and WiFi. Internet feaures includes web browser, Ubisurfer-browser with Compression/ acceleration and IE8 rendering.


Only Difference is that UbiSlate 7Ri and UbiSlate 7R+ have a resistive touchscreen where as UbiSlate 7Ci and UbiSlate 7C+ feature a capacitive touchscreen. They have storge in the range from 4GB and up-to 32 GB.

DataWind UbiSurfer Netbook introduced in India

Datawind Ltd., a leading Canadian developer of wireless web access products and services introduced an updated version of netbook UbiSurfer called UbiSurferNetbook in Indian market with an affordable price. The first model has Linux operating system the new revised edition leaves the room for the 6.0 version of Windows CE. Datawind Ubisurfer is designed in such away that it can be used on the move.

The new DataWind UbiSurfer screen is 7 inch TFT – Wide screen display with 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) resolutions. It has 128MB of RAM, a 1GB flash memory, and ability to expand via Secure Digital card system. it has 50 GB online storage facility. On the other hand, is equipped with wireless Ethernet, embedded Cellular Modem, GPRS, and Wi-Fi, speakers, three USB port and headphone jack.

UbiSurfer is integrated with Dual Speaker System, Stereo Sound Earphone Jack, Standard 80 Key keyboard, Dual Button Touch Mouse Pad. It is pre-loaded with Datawind Web Browser, Calendar, Media Player, Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Presentation, PDF Viewer, Email, Paint and Games.

UbiSurfer Netbook weights just 700 grams with a dimension of 222 x 165 x 29.5mm and has a lithium polymer battery with approximate Working Time of 3 hours. Moreover, the new netbook version of SoftMaker Office features that will let you edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint with great comfort.

UbiSurfer Netbook is expected to launch in India in the 2nd or 3rd week of May at estimated retail price tag of Rs. 7,999. It and comes with one year free internet access. For the first year, in India, the netbook is offering 30 hours per month of free internet access.Those who use intemperately can derive benefit of unlimited internet which is available at Rs. 99 per month and Rs.999 for each subsequent year.
