Panasonic unveils Toughbook SX2 business-oriented rugged notebook

The Panasonic Toughbook SX2 is able to withstand a 30-inch drop to the base of the unit while operating as well as a 12-inch drop from all other angles. The lid and base of the notebook are designed to withstand more than 220 lbs (100 kg) of pressure, and the Toughbook SX2 also features LCD mounting protection.

Features includes 12.1-inch 16:9 HD+ LED display, 3.3 GHz Intel Core i5-3320M Turbo-boosted processor with 3MB L3 cache, 720p HD web camera, two USB 3.0 ports, optical drive, 14.5 hours of battery life and weighs 3.15 lbs(1.43Kgs).

The Panasonic Toughbook SX2 notebook will be available by October 2012 with a base price starting at $2649 USD with standard three-year limited warranty.

Panasonic Toughbook S10 rugged laptop Features and Specs

This one from Panasonic belongs to the Toughbook line of laps. The S10 has a 12.1-inch LED-backlit 1280x800pixel display powered by 2.5 GHz Core i5-2520M processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.20 GHz, 8GB RAM and runs on Windows 7 Professional OS. it is equipped with 320 GB 5400 rpm hard disk drive.

The Toughbook S10 features a magnesium alloy case which can withstand drops, bumps and spills. The network connectivity options includes 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, optional Gobi 2000 3G mobile broadband.Expansion ports of S10 includes DVD drive, HDMI and VGA video outputs, USB 3./2.0 0 connectivity, multi card reader, fingerprint reader. It has an integrated DVD drive which is mounted next to the touchpad.

The Toughbook S10 comes with application such as Intel Anti-Theft technology, Computrace theft protection agent in BIOS, Trusted platform module (TPM) security chip v.1.2, Cable lock slot.It has a dimension of 12.1x8.3x0.9-1.5 inches and weighs 3.0 pounds(1.5 kg) with its battery delivers a back up of 12.5hrs.


Panasonic’s Toughbook S10 is expected to be available in September 2011 starting at $2,449.

The expansion of Let’s Note family of notebook continues as Panasonic introduced the new notebook, named Panasonic Let’s Note F9 notebook.The new Panasonic Let’s Note F9 notebook boasts a Core i5 processor and is expected to come to sales in Japanese market by February 17.

The all new Panasonic Let’s Note F9 notebook 14.1-inch LCD LED backlight display with resolution of 1440×900 pixel (WXGA+) and is powered with 2.40GHz Intel Core i5-520M processor.The Let’s Note F9 notebook comes with 2GB of RAM can support up to 4GB RAM and includes a 250GB hard drive. 

Panasonic Let’s Note F9 is featured with DVD Super Multi, three USB 2.0 port, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, WiMAX, and D-Sub port.The F9 notebook weighs 1.61kg and its dimensions are 326×251x25.5~48.5mm (WxDxH).The new Panasonic Let’s Note F9 notebook also includes a 3100 mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery provides a back-up of about 9 hours.
