It has 320GB capacity which spins at 7200RPM with USB 3.0(means more than 10x data transfer rate compared to usb 2.0 ) support and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0. It comes preloaded with the driver for Mac compatibility and can easily switch between a Windows and Mac based computer. Additional features include automatic backup and encryption software for the protection and safety of data.It is very thin with a form factor of 2.5-inches and width 9mm. Seagate claims it is the world's slimmest hard drive.
The Seagate GoFlex Slim will retail in stores for an MRP of Rs. 4,500 and available through the Seagate distribution channels and select retail outlets in India.

Seagate Momentus XT Drives
Seagate announced the World’s Fastest Momentus XT Solid State Hybrid 2.5-inch laptop PC hard drive with combining SSD-like performance.The Momentus XT is a 7200-rpm serial ATA (SATA) hard-disk drive combined with 4GB of SSD capacity and 32MB of DDR3 cache memory. Seagate claims the Momentus XT is 80 percent faster than traditional 7200-RPM drives. The Momentus XT works on PCs and Macs.
Seagate Momentus XT delivers impressive performance at a low price.The drive features with Adaptive Memory technology that learns and optimizes the drive’s performance to each user by moving frequently used information into the flash memory for faster access. According to Seagate, the Momentus XT solid state hybrid drive boots up to 100 percent faster than traditional 5400RPM drives.
“For notebook PC users looking forward to faster PC performance without sacrificing storage capacity or affordability, now there’s an option,” according to John Rydning, IDC’s research director for hard disk drives. “Seagate’s new Momentus XT drive is the first storage device for notebook PCs that raises the bar for affordable capacity and performance.”

Seagate Momentus XT Solid State Hybrid Drives will be available in 250 GB (ST92505610AS) at a price tag of $113, 320 GB (ST93205620AS) at a price tag of $122 and 500 GB (ST95005620AS) at a price tag of $156 with Seagate 5-year Limited Warranty.

The FreeAgent GoFlex storage family includes easy, plug-and-play USB 2.0 portable and desktop drives, with an array of interchangeable cables and desktop adapters that allow each drive to adapt to the interface or device being used. They are also specially designed to provide interoperability between operating systems in order to work with both Windows and Mac OS-X computers.
The seamless GoFlex cable system enables the GoFlex and GoFlex Pro ultra-portable USB 2.0 drives to be upgraded to USB 3.0, eSATA or FireWire 800 connections simply by switching out the cable adapter. Additionally, specially-designed GoFlex upgrade cables provide even more applications of how each drive can be used.
The ultra-portable and desktop drives are available in capacities ranging from 320GB to 2TB. The new launches includes GoFlex ultra portable drive (available for Rs 5,200 for 320GB; Rs 6,500 for 500GB; Rs 13,900 for 1TB), a 7200RPM, 2.5-inch GoFlex Pro ultra portable drive kit (available for Rs 7,900 for 500GB); and GoFlex Desk external drive kit (available for Rs 7,100 for 1TB; and Rs 13,500 for 2TB).

Seagate Momentus Thin, slimmest 2.5-inch hard drive Features
Seagate Technology recently introduce the slimmest,ultra-thin hard drive, named Momentus Thin.The hard drive has a thickness of just 2.5-inch.The hard-disk is intented for portable computers.For comparison: the modern hard drive with the same diameter disc is available in versions 9.5 thick and 12.5 mm.The Seagate Momentus Thin is enclosed in a shell with a thickness not more than 7 mm.
The new Seagate Momentus Thin 2.5-inch hard drive is connected to the PC through the SATA II.The hard drive has a specification of 5400 rpm and an 8MB buffer cache.The Seagate Momentus Thin ultra thin hard drives will be available in capacity of 160GB and 250GB.Seagate Momentus Thin hard drive will be unveiling at CES on January 2010.
