Sharkoon has launched a new portable hard drive enclosure, which will work with 2.5 inch SAT hard drives, and is compatible with USB 3.0, the Sharkoon QuickStore.
The enclosure's cover is equipped with a practical locking slide so the hard drive can be installed without any screws or tools: Unlock and remove cover, insert hard drive, reattach cover and lock – finished and also it comes with a SuperSpeed interface which will give you transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps
The Sharkoon QuickStore Portable USB 3.0, as its name implies, allows a hard
disk drive or a solid state drive to communicate via the USB 3.0 interface. Measuring 135 (L) x 85 (W) x 14 (H) mm and weighing only 51 grams, the device can house storage solutions using the 2.5-inch form factor and designed with the SATA interface. There is also backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports then the maximum transfer rates will be much lower than the 5Gbps.
The enclosure is made of aluminum and comes in black, brushed or mirror finishes. For added convenience, the assembly is tool-free and of course, all standard spec'd 2.5-inch SATA SSDs/HDDs can be used. There is also a one touch backup button included on the unit for Windows PCs.
Sharkoon retailers are already shipping the external HDD/SSD enclosure, with a price of 28.90 Euro.
