Western Digital VelociRaptor hard drives Details

Recent information from the internet world reveals that Western Digital on its way to launch new VelociRaptor family hard drives.No official announcement is made yet.

Western Digital’s  New next-gen VelociRaptor hard drives comes housed in 3.5-inch mounting frame (IcePack reloaded) with a heat sink compatible with backplane, which serves to reduce the operating temperature.The new hard drive features working speed of 10000rpm, a 3ms latency, up to 37 db noise level, 145 MB/s transfer speed, a MTBF of 1.4 million hours, and 32 of cache.

The new VelociRaptor hard drives from Western Digital is designed for use in workstations, servers, and desktops enthusiasts.The harddrive also includes a number of WD’s technology such as NoTouch for reduced wear and Pre-emptive Wear Leveling.The harddrive connects to the computers through the SATA 3.0 providing up to 6 Gbps.

The new Western Digital VelociRaptor hard drives will be available in capcities of 150GB, 300GB, 450GB and 600GB .
