SHARP comes with world’s most efficient solar cell

This new solar cell is a triple-layer cell with conversion efficiency of 36.9 percent, which is the highest till date.


Based on triple-junction compound technology (similar to the solar cells used in NASA’s Mars rovers) the Compound solar cells put together photo-absorption layers that consist of at least two or more chemical elements. As a rule, such solar cells use rather expensive materials such as indium and gallium and have been so far used mainly in application areas such as satellites.

SHARP is planning to make this available in consumer markets by implementing the new cell in affordable solar cell products. Currently no news about when it is available, may be sooner.

Nokia 100 and Nokia 101 will hit in Asia and Africa soon

The Nokia 101 and 100 are low-cost phones based on the Series 30 operating system. Both the phone can support support up to five separate address books and store personalisation details for up to five different SIM cards. It has grid-based system of icons, an integrated flashlight, an FM radio. Both has 25 days on standby or 6.7 hours talktime.


Features of Nokia 101:


Nokia 101 supports dual-SIM and has an MP3 player with a headset included in the box. It has support for memory cards up to 16GB, there are preloaded games and a 3.5mm AV connector so owners can connect the device to better speakers.

Price and Availability:

The Nokia 101 will be available in India this month for Rs 1699 and the Nokia 100 will be available from October in India for Rs 1399.

In India Nokia, with mobile operator Bharti Airtel providing 100 minutes of free Airtel-to-Airtel talktime for the first month for those buying these two new handsets. Besides, customers will also get 400 national and local SMS free every month.

Samsung Galaxy Tab coming to India

Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablets from Samsung will be availabile on Indian market from August 10th. All the Current software updates including Android 3.1, TouchWiz UI will be in the tablets when they were in India.Samsung states that in India the 8.9-inch model will carry the name Samsung Galaxy Tab 730, and the 10.1-inch tablet will go by Samsung Galaxy Tab 750.

The 750 will launch later this month(AUG 2011) and the 730 will arrive in mid-September. When the two are launched they will only be available with 16GB of built-in storage and 3G+Wi-Fi Internet connectivity. Samsung plans to charge Rs. 33,990 for the smaller 730 and Rs. 36,200 for the 750.

India drops to 33rd in Supercomputer Position

Its became more worry to the supercomputer manufacturers in India as our country continues to drop its position among the top supercomputing systems that created so far.According to recent data from Top500, a foundation formed in 1993 to assemble and maintain a list of 500 of the most powerful computer systems present on the planet, India's position drops to 33rd spot in the latest rankings.

At 2007 we are having the fourth fastest supercomputer in the planet.From the new ranking the first rank goes to US' Jaguar and China's Nebulae comes second with a peak speed of 2.98 petaflop per second.India's fastest supercomputer is Tata Sons EKA with a peak speed of 0.172 petaflops  per second.

The second fastest supercomputer in India goes to Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology in Pune positioned 94th spot in the list.Among the list US has the most supercomputers with 282, where UK with  38 comes second, China and Germany has 24 supercomputers and India has only just 5 supercomputer...

Intel eight-core Nehalem-EX Processor Launching soon Details

The leading chip maker, Intel on its way to release its fastest and highly anticipated eight-core Nehalem-EX server processor by the end of this month.The new Intel eight-core Nehalem-EX processor is targeted at four-socket servers with each core is able to run two threads simultaneously, providing chip 64 virtual processing cores on servers.The company also said that the new Intel eight-core Nehalem-EX is the fastest processor till dated.

The available information also reveals that the new Intel eight-core Nehalem-EX processor includes 24MB of cache, and 2.3 billion transistors.The new processor also includes technologies like  MCA recovery error correction, separately buffered memory chips.The processor will be able to detect system errors originating in the CPU or system memory and correct them by working with the operating system.As the name explains the processor is based on the Nehalem microarchitecture integrated with memory controller that improves system speed by cutting data bottlenecks that plagued Intel's earlier chips.

The processor chip is made using the 45-nm process.The new Intel eight-core Nehalem-EX processor will also be provided with separate buffered memory chips which is capable of storing data temporarily along with main memory providing faster execution.Intel also is planning to introduce next-generation Xeon server processors based on the Westmere microarchitecture by the end of this month.

Famous industrial designer,Paulina Carlos recently introduced the future computer concept, named Dell Froot.The Dell Froot desktop is totally different from conventional desktops in both shape and size.The Dell Froot desktop doesnt have a system unit,a keyboard or even a monitor.

The new Dell Froot desktop uses a laser keyboard and for display it uses screen projection technology.
Actually Dell Froot desktop is a small device that includes two built-in projectors, one for display and other for creating a virtual keyboard.The keyboard is projected on to the table and the display screen is actually the wall to which the system faces. 

Dell Froot looks similar to a small panel with a convex rounded central part.The DVD drive is a slot-loading optical drive placed at right side along with ports.Dell Froot is expected to be offered in bright colors.

MSI Wind U135 and U160 Launch at CES 2010 Details

MSI recently confirmed that they are going to present its latest wind series notebooks at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2010) in Las Vegas on January 7, named MSI Wind U135 and MSI Wind U160.

The MSI Wind U160 netbook is is equipped with 10-inch display and is powered by the Intel Pine Trail processor and houses an Intel Atom N450.The new MSI Wind U160 netbook comes with a slim design and has Fancy Gold color.The notebook battery provides a back up of about 9 hours.The notebook is less than an inch thick and weighing just 1kg.

The MSI Wind U135 netbook also will be unveiled at CES 2010 comes equipped with 10-inch display and an Intel Atom N450 processor and features up to 2GB of RAM, a 160GB/250 GB hard drive, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, plus optional 3.5G and WiMAX module.

The availability and price details of both MSI Wind U135 and U160 are yet to be announced.We hope that will happen at the upcoming CES.

Google Chrome OS-based netbook Specifications Leaked

Recent rumors from technology world reveals that Google's Chrome OS-based netbook specs leak out and is available on the net now.base on the specification revealed the notebook that is going to be launched will be a powerful one with lot of features and specifications.The new Google notebook is expected to launch in the holiday season of 2010.

Google Chrome OS-based netbook is expected to come up with a 10.1-inch TFT HD-ready multi-touch display and is powered by an ARM CPU reported to be of higher performance than Intel Atom processor and consumes only less power.The Google notebook will boast of a chipset from Nvidia's Tegra line (likely the second generation).

The new Chrome OS-based notebook from Google will be housed with 64GB SSD and not HDD for storage and comes housed with 2GB RAM, WiFi, integrated 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, Ethernet port, USB ports, webcam, 3.5mm audio jack, multi-card reader and lot more.The netbook also features applications like Google Map, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calender and Google Search by Voice.

Google Chrome OS-based netbook includes a a 4- or 6-cell battery and is expected to come up with a price tag of $300.So wait for the official launch..........
