Sprint unveils HTC EVO 4G Phone





The HTC EVO 4G will support WiMax high-speed wireless service.

Early reports showed that this handset is a huge hit in the US and the device was completely sold out within 4 hours of the launch.






Features included:

  • has a 4.3 inch screen designed for video viewing and Web browsing
  • The screen is 30 percent bigger than the Apple Inc iPhone
  • has an 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with HD-capable video camcorder
  • a forward-facing 1.3 megapixel camera can be used for video conferencing, video chatting etc..
  • It is the country's first fourth-generation 4G phone
  • Uses the latest version of Google Android operating system
  • GPS navigation is provided
  • The device has an HDMI port to transmit high-definition video to the television
  • It uses Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor to run programs faster
  • The Evo will fall back to Sprint's 3G network(CDMA) when 4G(WiMax ) isn't available

With its built-in mobile hotspot functionality, HTC EVO 4G allows up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices to share the 4G connection. Users can easily share an Internet connection on the go with a laptop, camera, music player, game unit, video player, or any other Wi-Fi enabled device.

With the Android 2.1 platform, HTC EVO 4G can deliver a wide array of useful new features, including a new way to search with pictures instead of words, through Google Goggles.

Text messaging and email composition feature built-in voice-to-text technology. By simply pressing a microphone button on the screen, messages can be composed by just speaking, making keeping in touch faster and easier than ever.

Sprint and HTC Corporation have announced summer availability of HTC EVO 4G exclusively from Sprint and through national retail partners, RadioShack, Best Buy and Walmart. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
